Elements and Performance Criteria
- Plan and prepare for underground load haul dump operations
- Access, interpret and apply underground load haul dump operations documentation and ensure the work activity is compliant
- Obtain, read, interpret, clarify and confirm work requirements
- Identify and address risks, hazards and environmental issues and implement control measures
- Select and wear personal protective equipment appropriate for work activities
- Select, and check for faults, equipment and/or attachments for work activities
- Obtain and interpret emergency procedures, and be prepared for fire/accident/emergency
- Inspect and assess site conditions to determine if scaling is required and take action according to site requirements
- Use approved dust suppression and extraction methods
- Ensure work area is well ventilated before entry
- Identify need for, and apply signage and barricades during each stage of activities
- Operate load haul dump plant
- Carry out start-up, park, shutdown and secure equipment procedures
- Coordinate activities with others at the site prior to commencement of, and during, the work activity
- Drive and operate equipment safely within working environment, load limitations and road conditions
- Monitor and manage equipment performance using appropriate indicators and ensure efficiency of operations
- Continually monitor hazards and risks, and ensure safety of self, other personnel, plant and equipment
- Complete the work plan, within the operating capacities of the plant

- Check job site and identify and manages possible misfires in accordance with site procedures
- Check, identify and remove contaminants
- Ensure all hoses and other auxiliary services are neatly stored
